When viewing a visitor’s details during an emergency or drill, you can now see which faculty or staff member is hosting them, so you know who to check with about that visitor’s whereabouts.
When you start or schedule an event, or configure an Event Type, you’ll now see whether your notification message fits in a single text message. If it’s too long, you’ll be warned that it will be truncated, so you can shorten it before it goes out.
Working through a list of attendance records should take a lot fewer clicks now:
The Attendance nav bar now shows on every record page. From inside a student’s record you can go straight to any Attendance page or open search, without going back first.
The Records list remembers where you left off. Click Records in the top nav and your list comes back on the same tab (All / On Site / Off Site / Unknown), with the same filters and sort. This is saved per school in the browser, so it’s still there after closing the tab or coming back the next day.
When creating or editing a plan change for a student, click Fill from Defaults to pre-fill it with that student’s current default plans. If the change is a small tweak to their usual schedule, start from their defaults and adjust only what’s different.
All Timeslots Shown Up Front
When creating a plan change or editing a student’s defaults, every available timeslot is now listed automatically. Choose a plan for each one directly, or select None if the student has no plan for that timeslot. No more clicking Add Step and picking timeslots from a dropdown.
Schools using Revocable Barcodes can now download a CSV of every student’s current barcode value and the date it was generated. This makes it easy to use those barcodes outside of Ruvna, like printing them on student IDs.
To access, go to Settings > Attendance > Student App Settings, and click Download CSV under Download Student Barcodes. (Only available in the new web app.)
You can now save the messages your school sends again and again as reusable templates. Weather delays, practice cancellations, form deadline reminders: write them once, and anyone on your team can start from the same polished version next time.
Start from a template: Find your school’s shared library under Announcements > Templates. Choose “Use Template” to open a new draft with the subject, message, channels, and audience already filled in. Change the details that differ, then send or schedule like any other announcement.
Fixed a bug that allowed more than one user to have the same email address. When you edit a manually added user’s email, you’ll now see an error if that address already belongs to another user.
Redesigned background check match dialog: the whole dialog was redesigned so you can quickly understand a potential match’s details, crime(s), appearance and more. The photos are larger and rectangular for easier side-by-side comparison.
Better photos: hover over an avatar in the visitor list to see a larger photo, or click the avatar on a visitor’s profile to see it full size.
You now have the option to set an expiration policy for Trusted Visitor background checks. Once a check expires, the Trusted Visitor is rechecked the next time they scan in.
During an emergency or drill, faculty and staff using the Ruvna iOS app can now see the notification sent when the event started, right in the group-wide message thread. If someone missed or dismissed the alert, the original instructions are still there for reference.
You can now choose which columns appear in your Visits list and arrange them in the order you prefer.
Each tab (Active, Upcoming, Pending, Denied, Departed, and All) can be customized separately. For example, you might show the Notes column right next to the visitor’s name on the Active tab while hiding it entirely on the Departed tab.
To customize a tab, click the column settings icon next to the search bar, then toggle columns on or off and drag them to reorder. Select “Reset to defaults” at any time to restore the original layout.
Your settings are saved to your browser, so they apply automatically each time you return on that device. You can set up different layouts on different devices
The Bulk Interactions Explorer (or Bulk Interactions Report) now supports viewing arrival/departure data for faculty and staff in addition to students.
Accountability now supports the Standard Response Protocol (SRP). If your school has adopted SRP, your event types in Ruvna can use the same language, icons, and colors your staff has been trained on, so there’s no translation required during a drill or a real emergency.
